Demeurer dans la Vallée Etrusque entre Volterra et San Geminiano
Borgo Amore is a hamlet perched on a hilltop five hundred metres above sea level near Volterra and San Gimignano, in Tuscany. The “borgo” (hamlet) comprises the main 19th century Villa, a little 13th century consecrated Church, and several restored farmhouses. The 300 hectares of land surrounding the hamlet are divided into woods, fields for planting organically grown cereal crops, olive groves, ponds, vegetable gardens and pastures for horses. The main villa is composed by two wings: the western one, that looks out towards the Mediterranean sea and the eastern one, which faces fields and hills that lead to San Gimignano. On the western side the lawn leads on to the countryside with hills rolling away towards the far horizon. The pool is carved from an ancient limestone quarry and its infinity edge gives on to the woods and hills below Volterra. The eastern wing opens on to a luscious Mediterranean garden with purple, mauve and lavender hues while the northern garden of the property melds into the woods. There is an internal courtyard and a little tower with a view that extends from Monte Amiata to the peaks of Corsica on a clear day. Spread out on three floors the estate boasts 17 elegant bedrooms and suites , several public rooms, a professional kitchen with wine cellars, an extra private kitchen, a medieval banquet room and a children’s entertainment room.
