A Stylish Embrace of Nature, few minutes from Porto Cervo and Porto Rotondo

Gallura names both a geographical and cultural region in Northern Sardinia, and is a prime location to visit along Costa Smeralda. Dating back to the Middle Ages, Gallura is as rich in history as most any area to be discovered in Italy. The main towns and villages in the coastal area are Olbia , Tempio Pausania , La Maddalena , Arzachena and Calangianus. The local population speaks "Gallurese", a Sardinian dialect, which is strictly connected with southern dialects of Corsican language. Regardless of the Owl’s immediate environmental seclusion, Olbia’s airport is conveniently less than an hour from the estate. Olbia’s local industry includes cork and granite, both of which are manufactured in Obia itself and the town of Tempio. Local tourism is predominant in the areas of Costa Smeralda and La Maddalena Island, and for good reason. The beaches of San Pantaleo and Santa Teresa Gallura have contributed to its development as a fashionable touristic destination, both areas boasting some of the most beautiful of Sardinia’s beaches. One can feel the strong, resounding music of ancient times in Santa Teresa Gallura, looking at the sea, and walking through the countryside. Wide open spaces, uncontaminated landscapes, and the primordial beauty of Gallura lead to wonder about an era, during which Gallura was crowded by not just its people, but by heroes and gods. On the way to Capo Testa one can find a whole “nuraghi” village, where its circular foundations are still visible today. With strong historical roots dating back to times prehistoric, Gallura’s central Mediterranean location made Costa Smeralda a key trading stop for Phenicians, Romans and Spaniards. This has made the Costa Smeralda of today the historic legend that draws visitors from all corners of the globe. Hence, the Costa Smeralda of today still prides itself on the very land and seascapes of times past. Make your senses available for a journey to Sardinia’s Emerald Coast, as it ensures stunning views of the coast, wonderful fragrances of the sea, and sounds of its own natural world.

Located less than twenty minutes from the magnificent beaches of Sardinia’s most prized coastal areas, Costa Smeralda, Porto Cervo and Porto Rotondo, The Owl is central to one of the most exclusive of areas in all of Sardinia. With respect to its own local environment and that of the greater world’s, this property takes a “green” approach to contemporary and immaculate elegance. All structures on the private estate are constructed of stones from The Owl’s property. Its exterior displays various facades, one of white wash and another of Sardinian granite. Both facades have been finished with the finest materials, to the highest of standards. After being an international banker for over twenty five years in major financial centers around the world, the The Owl’s owner has realized his long time dream of turning his passions for the countryside, the sea, and the arts into his main activities. The result: The Owl. The estate’s main house is in close proximity of the estate’s own stables and riding facilities, all built in traditional Sardinian architecture. The main house features a private dining room, living room, kitchen, and three double bedrooms, all of which have en-suite bathrooms. Additional living spaces are the “Stazzeto House” (the guest house) and the “Barn House.” The “Stazzeto House” features its own private garden and includes a double bedroom, living room, and bathroom. In the bathroom a hot tub for two awaits guests in a glass enclosure overlooking the valley. Ironic to the concept of a “barn,” The Owl’s “Barn House” completes the estates living spaces, composed in total of its “East Barn” and its “West Barn.” Both have two double bedrooms and their en-suite bathrooms, a living room, an ample dining room, a kitchen and two patios with gardens. The Owl is perfect for a big group of friends or a family party. A communal area in the garden makes for an ideal outdoor space for alfresco dining, while the living spaces guarantee privacy and plenty of room all to stay. A tennis court, an artificial pond, a swimming pool, and equestrian facilities complete the contemporary and naturally private estate that is, The Owl.
